  • Get help if: Chest pain/pressure, sudden severe breathlessness, blue lips/face, coughing up blood, fainting.

Seek urgent care immediately if any of the following occur:

  • Chest pain/pressure, pain spreading to arm/jaw/back, or sweating with nausea
  • Severe or sudden shortness of breath, blue lips/face, inability to speak full sentences
  • Coughing up blood, high fever with chills, or confusion
  • No urine for 8–12 hours with dizziness/very dry mouth (possible dehydration)

  • Substantial exposure to radiation or chemicals/toxins through the mouth or by inhalation

  • Excessive exposure to environmental pollutants including various sources of smoke
  • Adverse climatic conditions

  • Harmful traditional beliefs and practices

Lifestyle measures

  • Regular (yearly) routine general medical screening
  • Report illness/body distress early to authorized medical facilities
  • At least 30 minutes of exercise(like walking) per day
  • Avoid substantial radiation as much as possible
  • Avoid chemicals/toxins either by inhalation or through the mouth or skin as much as possible
  • Deliberate efforts at eating locally available nutritious and healthy foods
  • Deliberately avoid salty and sugary intake as much as you can especially as your age gradually climbs
  • Drink water liberally daily (at least 3 litres for adults and for children, see Children Preventive Path)
  • Avoid environmental pollutants as much as you can and use personal protective equipment/materials like handkerchief when necessary
  • Avoid adverse environmental conditions by staying indoors if you can or wearing protective clothing and equipping yourself with protective equipments(e.g handkerchief) if you have to go out.
  • Discuss your traditional beliefs and practices regarding your health with your doctor in order to avoid harmful practices
  • Comply with recommended immunization programs in authorized medical facilities in your locality
